From AI Ambition to SAP Execution: What Neptune and NETIZEN Saw in Bangkok.
AI is already changing how quickly teams can build applications. For SAP organizations, however, building an application is only part of the job.
Whatever gets built still has to work with SAP data, authorizations, and existing business processes. It has to fit into an enterprise environment that may include ECC, S/4HANA, and other systems. And eventually, someone has to use it to get real work done.
We spent a lot of time talking about exactly this recently in Bangkok, where Neptune joined our new partner NETIZEN to launch AiBuild, NETIZEN’s AI-powered solution built on the Neptune platform, in Thailand.
The event brought together SAP professionals from across the Thai market for a hands-on look at AI-powered application development. Most of the audience worked directly in IT, SAP, and technical roles, which led to a practical discussion about where AI can actually help.
Building Is Getting Easier. Enterprise Execution Is Still Hard.
One thing became clear during the event: there is strong interest in what AI can build, but the harder questions arise once you move beyond the prototype.
How does the application connect to SAP? How do you handle authorizations? What happens when employees need to work offline? Can you introduce new functionality without creating additional customization that must be addressed during the next upgrade?
These aren’t particularly flashy questions, but they’re the ones SAP teams must answer if an AI-generated application is going to make it into production.
That’s also why we think the conversation around enterprise AI is moving toward execution.
A warehouse application is useful when an employee can scan an item and update the relevant SAP process directly from the warehouse floor. An approval application matters when someone can complete the approval without returning to a complicated SAP transaction. An AI agent becomes much more interesting when it can work with the systems and processes a company already relies on.
That was the focus of much of what we showed and discussed in Bangkok.
What This Looks Like in SAP
AiBuild is an AI-powered solution developed by NETIZEN on Neptune DXP. It combines NETIZEN’s local SAP expertise with Neptune’s application development platform to help SAP teams create business applications and AI agents faster.
Because AiBuild is built on Neptune, applications can integrate directly with existing SAP systems and processes without modifying SAP standard code.
During the event, we looked at practical examples, including mobile applications for factories and warehouses, approval workflows, customer and partner portals, and applications that connect SAP with other enterprise systems.
Clean Core naturally came up in that discussion.
SAP teams want to respond to business requirements faster, but adding more customization to the ERP core can make future maintenance and upgrades more difficult. Keeping the application layer separate gives teams another way to improve processes and user experiences while keeping the underlying SAP environment easier to manage.
With Neptune DXP as its foundation, AiBuild can integrate with SAP APIs, Business Objects, and existing authorization models while supporting a Clean Core approach.

During the event, NETIZEN and Neptune also signed an MOU formalizing the partnership and outlining our plans to work together in the Thai market.
Where the Conversation Goes From Here
The conversations in Bangkok reflected what we’re seeing more broadly in enterprise AI.
Companies have spent a lot of time exploring what AI can do. Now the questions are becoming more practical.
Where can we use it? How does it work with SAP? Can we get it into production? And will it noticeably improve the process for the person doing the work?
Those are good questions for the industry to be asking.
Ultimately, the value of AI in the enterprise won’t be determined by how quickly it can create a demo. It will be determined by what companies can actually put to work.
