Asked Questions

Didn’t find what you need?

Yes. The Neptune free trial is completely free. There are no hidden fees, no commitment, and no credit card required.

The trial gives you full access to the Neptune platform for non-production use, so you can design, build, manage, and test applications exactly as you would in a real project. You can explore the platform, connect it to your SAP system, and validate use cases before making any decision.

The free trial includes access to the full Neptune platform with a 30-day trial license for two users.

During the trial, you can:

  • Build and configure applications
  • Test integrations with SAP
  • Explore low-code development, UI, workflows, and APIs
  • Validate technical and functional use cases

The trial is designed to help you understand how Neptune fits into your SAP landscape and development approach.

The trial is intended for non-production use only.

There are:

  • No limits on the number of applications you can build
  • No artificial restrictions on platform features
  • No forced upgrades or feature gating

The main limitation is user count and duration: two users, valid for 30 days. This keeps the trial focused and easy to evaluate while still representing real platform capabilities.

Activating your trial license is straightforward and fully guided.

You request your trial license through the Neptune DXP Portal. After requesting it, you will receive a customer ID by email.
Or you can view and remotely disconnect your trial anytime within your Account page.

This customer ID is then entered in the License Configuration wizard in the System Settings of your Neptune runtime.
Once activated, the system restarts automatically and the trial license becomes active.

When the trial expires, your environment remains intact, but active usage is restricted.

Nothing you build during the trial is lost. Your applications, configurations, and logic remain available. If you decide to continue with Neptune, your setup can be upgraded seamlessly to a paid license without rebuilding or reconfiguring your work.

You should upgrade when you want to:

  • Move from evaluation to a real project
  • Make applications available to internal users
  • Use Neptune in a productive environment

Upgrading is simple. All applications and configurations created during the trial carry over directly into the paid environment. All applications and configurations created during the trial are instantly available once a paid license is applied to the system. Our team can help you select the right licensing model and get you live quickly.

Even during the trial, you are not on your own.

You get access to:

  • Neptune Community documentation and knowledge base
  • eLearning courses and onboarding resources
  • Tutorials and examples to help you get started

If you need deeper guidance, our solution experts are available to help you evaluate the platform and answer technical or architectural questions.

Basic SAP knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to be a deep SAP expert to get started.

Neptune is designed for SAP developers, architects, and technical teams who want to build applications faster and more efficiently. The platform abstracts much of the complexity while still remaining SAP-native.

The Neptune free trial can be used with both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.

It connects directly to your SAP system and allows you to build SAP-native applications on top of your existing processes and data. This makes the trial particularly valuable for validating real SAP use cases rather than generic demos.
