Homebase integrates SAP, Oracle, and its legacy systems with Neptune Software.
Homebase is one of the UK’s largest retail stores and it was time to improve the in-store customer experience. To do this – they had to digitize. They wanted to revamp their systems and processes but in a cost-effective way that would allow them to still utilize their existing infrastructure. The solution they found had to de-couple their back-ends allowing them to be more agile and it had to be able to consume new technologies easily. They also wanted to make the tools their employees used easier, and introduce a ‘bring your own device’ policy.
Enter the Neptune DX Platform. Our easy to use drag and drop application development tool was the perfect answer for Homebase.
This on-going project has been rolled out to 19,000 users so far and the apps are available on Android and iOS. Their suite of applications integrates with their SAP, Oracle and Legacy databases and utilizes Kubernetes on Azure AD and authentication with Azure AD. They delivered this entire project internally saving them cost and they did not have to purchase any additional hardware. They have since retired several expensive SAAS solutions and middleware and the apps are designed for internal and external use. In the end, Homebase was able to move its Microservices Architecture increasing business agility and flexibility.
