Fact Sheet — Hauni optimized machine inspection process with new SAP Fiori application


Hauni created an SAP Fiori app that optimized its machine inspection and equipped technicians with a new dynamic mobile solution

Hauni Maschinenbau GmbH was struggling with a paper-heavy machine inspection process and an Excel based documentation of the inspection results that was slowing things down. They were on a mission to digitize these processes, and in turn, looking to create better guidance for their Service Technicians. They also wanted a solution that would accelerate the Retrofit and downstream commercial processes. Most importantly, they needed whatever solution they decided to go with to automatically transfer captured data to their SAP backend.

That is when Hauni found our partner SD&C Consulting GmbH and learned about the Neptune DX Platform – the answer to all of their digitization goals and more.

Over the course of 4 months, Hauni created a set of apps that optimized their machine inspection process and equipped their Service Technicians with a mobile solution that worked. Their mobile solution creates dynamic checklists based on the equipment and inspection step. It also integrates with native hardware functionalities such as Camera, Barcode, Scanner, and can even capture signatures. Within the app, Service Technicians can edit pictures – redlining and commenting. Once an inspection is complete a PDF document is generated cleaning up the Excel database issues. Hauni has rolled the SAP CS and Neptune Software based UI5 mobile apps out to over 350 users.
